Many years ago, I was lucky to meet some of the charming Wilson family at Tobacco Lake on Manitoulin. One of my pals, Donna, had a camp next-door, where I was staying a few days. The camp was so rustic, there was only running water when you ran with it.
Sitting at the picnic table next-door the evening I drove in was Violet Wilson, the widow of the well-respected Manitoulin optometrist Clare, who flew a small airplane all over Northern Ontario to help people with their eyesight.
