Analyze – to loosen throughout, to take apart

Arrogance – Overbearing or hauty (from arrogantia, the title in Roman law by which a person owned a slave)

Assume – To take for granted

Cognition – To know together

Cognizance – To be born together

Coherence – To stick together

Communication – The act of becoming one with or one together

Compromise – To promise together

Conversation – To turn together (com = together + vertere = to turn)

Debate – To beat down in order to resolve

Dialogue - Meaning or reality flowing through

Dichotomy – to cut in two

Discretionary effort – the difference in the level of effort one is capable of bringing to an activity or task versus the effort required to simply get by or make do

Discuss – To shake something apart

Emotion – To move out

Express – to press or push outwards

Understand – to stand under or “under-stand” someone.  Picture two friends in a large crowd several centuries ago.  The Queen is passing through town and it's impossible for either friend to see over the crowd.  One friend allows the other to get up on his back and asks him to describe what is happening.  As he understands (stands under) his friend he sees the events through his friend's eyes. Seeing and feeling another's reality is understanding.
